Production and application of silicon manganese
Silicon manganese alloy is an alloy composed of manganese, silicon, iron and a small amount of carbon and other elements. It is a kind of iron alloy with wide use and large yield.Its consumption accounts for the second place of electric furnace ferroalloy products, manganese and silicon in the manganese silicon alloy and oxygen affinity is strong, in the use of manganese silicon alloy in steelmaking, the melting point of the deoxidization products MnSiO3 and Mn2SiO4 is 1270℃ and 1327℃ respectively, with low melting point, large particles, easy to float, deoxidization effect is good. Under the same conditions, the burning loss rate of manganese or silicon deoxidization is 46% and 37% respectively, while the burning loss rate of manganese and silicon deoxidization is 29%.
It has been widely used in steelmaking, and its output growth rate is higher than the average growth rate of ferroalloy, higher than the growth rate of steel, and it has become an indispensable composite deoxidizer and alloy additive in iron and steel industry. Manganese-silicon alloy with carbon content less than 1.9% is also used for the production of medium, low carbon ferromanganese and electrosilicon thermal manganese metal semi-finished products.
Silicon-manganese alloy is a compound deoxidizer commonly used in steelmaking, as well as a reducing agent in the production of manganese metal by low carbon ferromanganese and electrosilicon-thermal processes.
