Silicon slag is a by-product produced after the production of silicon metal and ferrosilicon, and its internal silicon content is about 45%~65%. In addition to silicon, silicon slag also contains small amounts of aluminum, sulfur, phosphorus, and carbon. According to the different production processes, silicon slag can also be divided into two categories: silicon metal slag and ferrosilicon slag.
The process of producing silicon slag is the process of smelting silicon metal and ferrosilicon, after smelting silicon metal and ferrosilicon will produce metallurgical slag in the bottom of the electric furnace or furnace wall, these metallurgical slag is the source of silicon slag. By processing the silicon slag can be processed into granular and lumpy, in order to reasonably apply the silicon slag, it will also be grinded and loaded with alloy powder, and made into various grades of ferroalloy briquette through the ball press machine, which are used for steel making and casting needs.
